Job summary

Forbright Bank is seeking a Human Resources & Community Impact Intern for a nine-week paid summer program at our Chevy Chase, MD headquarters. You will gain hands-on HR, CSR, and event planning experience while supporting community initiatives.

Responsibilities include assisting with HR projects, planning the Sustainable Solutions Summit, coordinating Volunteer Month, and creating outreach content. Eligible candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with strong writing, communication, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s Degree or currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree required
• 0–1 year of relevant work experience preferred
• Experience in event planning preferred
• Ability to create compelling written and visual content for diverse audiences
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Outstanding problem-solving and time management skills
• Self-motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented
• Adaptable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Can work independently and within a team; solution-oriented with a collaborative approach

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Human Resources team on projects that advance Forbright Bank’s human resources, talent acquisition, and community impact initiatives
• Assist in planning and executing the Sustainable Solutions Summit (must be available the week leading up to and the week of July 26 – 30, 2027)
• Support planning and coordination of Volunteer Month and other employee volunteer engagements
• Assist in employee engagement planning and coordination
• Build planning schedules, toolkits, documents, and presentations for various community impact and HR events
• Communicate with external stakeholders
• Monitor progress toward corporate sustainability and CRA goals
• Contribute to content creation for internal newsletters, social media, and reports to highlight community initiatives
• Participate in brainstorming sessions to identify innovative approaches for community engagement and philanthropic impact
• Assist in recruitment efforts (i.e., 2028 college internship recruitment research)
• Perform other duties as assigned
