Job summary

Nebraska Public Power District is seeking an HR Business Partner I or II at Gerald Gentleman Station in Sutherland, Nebraska to align business objectives with employees and management. The HRBP serves as a consultant on HR issues and acts as an employee champion and change agent.

The HRBP I role is development-focused and geared toward progressing to HRBP II, with oversight and support as the incumbent grows in independence. Travel may be required within Nebraska.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred; combination of education and HR experience may substitute.
• Experience in recruiting, consulting, performance management, investigations, EEOC/ADA/FLSA is required for HRBP II.
• Direct HR experience and knowledge of HR programs is essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a consultant and strategic resource to internal customers in HR issues such as behavior modification, conflict resolution, workforce planning, succession planning, pay administration, and disciplinary matters.
• Direct recruiting for open positions, participate on interview teams, and assist with onboarding and new employee orientation.
• Assist with Workers' Compensation, Return-to-Work, and LTD cases; coordinate with specialists on FMLA/ADA issues.
• Provide training on HR programs including performance management, FMLA, harassment prevention, and EEO compliance.
