The role emphasizes employee relations, investigations, and coaching managers through complex situations across multiple campuses. Travel to Eden, Delta, and Solano facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of HR experience in employee relations.
• Experience conducting workplace investigations end-to-end.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Ability to coach leaders through sensitive and high-risk situations.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Job description

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an HR Business Partner for a Contract assignment with one of our premier Healthcare clients in Oakland, CA.

Responsibilities

• Provides hands-on employee relations support across Alta Bates, Herrick, and Summit campuses.
• This highly visible role conducts workplace investigations from start to finish, including employee and witness interviews, document review, detailed case documentation, formal investigation reports, findings, recommendations, and corrective action guidance.
• Serves as a neutral and objective advisor to leaders and employees on performance management, discipline, workplace concerns, and other complex employee relations matters.
• Collaborates with HR, legal, labor relations, and risk partners to ensure consistent and compliant outcomes.
• Coaching leaders, identifying employee relations trends, supporting organizational change, and providing broader HR support across the three facilities as needed.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
• 5+ years of recent employee relations or human resources experience
• Recent hands-on experience personally conducting workplace investigations from intake through findings and recommendations
• Experience with employee and witness interviews, evidence gathering, documentation review, and formal investigation report writing
• Experience with performance management, discipline, corrective action recommendations, and employee relations casework
• Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and employee relations practices
• Ability to coach leaders through complex, sensitive, and high-risk employee situations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in clear, defensible case documentation
• Ability to travel between Eden, Delta, and Solano facilities based on active investigations and HR needs
