This is a Leave of Absence & ADA Accommodations Specialist role supporting North America (U.S. & Canada).
The contractor will handle high-volume employee accommodation and leave cases, act as the escalation point for a 3rd-party leave vendor, and support process improvement projects for Visa’s HR operations team.
The Leave & Accommodations Consultant supports the People Solutions Specialized Services team, serving as the primary contact for employees navigating leave of absence (LOA) and workplace accommodations. This role balances day-to-day case management with project work, driving continuous improvement and ensuring a consistent, compliant, and positive employee experience. The consultant leverages expertise in ADA, FMLA, and related regulations, and partners closely with leave administration vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employees requesting medical or religious accommodations; conduct the interactive process and make determinations in partnership with business leaders and People Business Partners
• Review accommodation requests, guide employees through the process, and ensure all required documentation is completed.
• Perform end-to-end case management for accommodations, including intake, assessment, determination, and follow-up
• Educate employees and managers on accommodation processes, legal considerations, and responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate records in HRIS (Workday) and case management systems (ServiceNow).
• Administer LOA cases (FMLA and other statutory leaves) in partnership with leave administration vendors; ensure compliance with federal and local regulations.
• Support employees returning from leave, coordinating accommodations as needed for successful reintegration.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve eligibility, escalations, and timing issues.
• Track and report on leave and accommodation metrics to ensure SLA adherence and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including enhancements to ServiceNow and Workday workflows.
• Develop and update playbooks, templates, and training materials to standardize practices.
• Participate in cross-functional projects related to leave and accommodations, such as payroll integration and compliance reviews.
