Overview

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. has an immediate opening for an HR Business Partner supporting our 2nd-shift (2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) operations in our Ashland, Virginia manufacturing facility. In this position, you would be a key part of the Human Resources team.

A successful HR Business Partner will perform as a strategic liaison between Human Resources and your assigned business partners. You will work closely with senior leaders to support the objectives of the organization and develop their teams.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with NL second‑shift leadership to anticipate organizational needs and translate them into effective HR actions.
  • Build and maintain coverage and staffing plans that ensure the right engineering resources are available.
  • Lead recruitment efforts for both college and experienced talent to meet current and future workforce needs.
  • Deliver a structured onboarding experience that accelerates integration and productivity for new engineers.
  • Guide managers through performance and salary review cycles using fair, consistent, and data‑driven practices.
  • Coordinate essential training programs and support ongoing skill and competency development across the engineering team.
  • Design and manage job rotation opportunities that promote learning, broaden experience, and support career growth.
  • Provide managers with accurate people and market data to inform strategic workforce and compensation decisions.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for engineers, helping them navigate policies, resolve concerns, and access development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of growth by supporting engineers in identifying development paths and building long‑term career capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology or related field
  • Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 or 10+ years of work experience post academics
  • 7+ years' experience working in HR
  • Ability to cover 2nd‑shift hours (2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.)
  • HR certification preferred
  • Effective at collaboratively driving projects with cross-functional teams
  • Experience working effectively in a matrix organization
  • Excellent judgement in complex situations with multiple stakeholders
