Job summary

The City of Cupertino is seeking a 1.5-year, full-time Limited Term Human Resources Analyst I in the Human Resources Division, City Manager’s Office. The role handles recruitment, classification, compensation, benefits and leave administration, and provides guidance to staff, retirees, and the public.

The position also supports training programs, Workers’ Compensation, and labor relations activities while ensuring compliance with laws and MOUs.

Qualifications

Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public or Business Administration.
Two years of professional HR administration experience in personnel selection, classification, benefits, and labor relations.
Public sector experience preferred.
May need a valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Perform full recruitment and selection duties including application screening and interviews.
Coordinate and assist in developing city-wide training programs.
Coordinate Workers’ Compensation program and related records.
Counsel and advise on employment, promotion, retirement, benefits and classification.
Assist in salary studies and class specification revisions.
Administer employee benefits and leave programs; ensure legal compliance.
Monitor HRIS processes including payroll and legislation impacts.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff and the public.
