Job summary

RedLine Performance Solutions is seeking a Scientific Programmer/Analyst to support the National Weather Service's Central Operations. You'll serve as an expert authority ensuring continuous operation of the operational weather-model suite, migrating models from on-premise HPC to GCP.

US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance are mandatory; candidates must have resided in the U.S. for the last 3 years.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in atmospheric sciences, meteorology, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in HPC or computational science.
• Experience with Python, C/C++ and Fortran; MPI/OpenMP; Linux; CI/CD; Git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Support the HPC operational suite of weather prediction models on a 24/7 basis.
• Serve as a technical authority for migrating models from on-premise HPC to Google Cloud Platform.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize complex operational software and workflows.
• Collaborate with software developers to implement changes and improvements.
• Communicate product changes and provide timely guidance to internal and external users.
