Job summary

UCAR's High-Performance Computing Systems Group seeks an HPC Systems Engineer to support CISL's multi-vendor systems, storage, and networks. You will work at NWSC (Cheyenne, WY) during installations, upgrades, or troubleshooting, and participate in periodic 24x7 on-call rotations.

A strong Linux background and scripting skills are essential. The role requires collaboration with multiple teams, experience in HPC environments, and the ability to travel about 90 miles to the NCAR Wyoming

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a computer-related or engineering field or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Linux, scripting, and programming languages.
• Familiarity with HPC software, networks, storage, and security.

Responsibilities

• Install, integrate, and maintain HPC/HPS hardware and software.
• Develop technical specs for RFPs/RFIs/RFQs and coordinate deployments.
• Provide 7x24 on-call support and travel to NWSC as needed.
• Operate and monitor HPC storage, networking, and performance in a Linux environment.
