Job summary

Synergy ECP in Columbia, MD, seeks a senior Linux systems engineer to optimize storage, tune the kernel, and drive performance across a highly technical environment serving defense, intelligence, and health care accounts.

You will troubleshoot I/O bottlenecks, prototype performance improvements, and collaborate with a fast-moving team on complex, mission-critical systems requiring TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Strong storage skills in both the block layer and the file system with a focus towards optimization.
• Understanding of application I/O.
• Kernel tuning, operating system debugging/tracing expertise, and network tuning expertise.
• Agile and able to context switch between a broad spectrum of tasks with the ability to go deeply into a problem area, quickly gaining the requisite expertise, while being a member of a highly technical team.
• Strong scripting/programming background - C, Perl, Bourne Shell/Bash, or Python
• Linux experience.
• Strong computer science/computer engineering background.
