Job summary

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking a high‑level System Administrator 3 to support complex enterprise IT systems and HPC environments. The role emphasizes sustaining mission‑critical infrastructure, leading advanced troubleshooting, and leveraging high‑speed networks and advanced storage technologies.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of SysAdmin experience, DoD 8570 IAT II certification, and strong Linux/HPC expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline; equivalent experience may substitute (5+ years).
• Minimum 10 years of System Administrator experience in similar environments.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or equivalent.
• Advanced experience with Linux, HPC environments, and networking including storage fabrics.
• Experience with automation, monitoring, and performance tools (Ansible, Salt, Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).

Responsibilities

• Provide implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance support for IT systems.
• Perform advanced Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Manage system operations including monitoring, maintenance, and optimization.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Linux across enterprise environments.
• Support HPC infrastructure including high-speed networking (InfiniBand, Slingshot).
• Administer storage solutions like Lustre and DDN Exascaler appliances.
• Support TCP/IP networking and storage fabric environments.
• Utilize Salt and Ansible to improve efficiency.
• Maintain and enhance system monitoring with Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Lead troubleshooting and provide technical guidance on complex issues.
