Job summary

North Point Technology is seeking a hands-on HPC Linux Software Engineer in Colorado Springs to support mission-critical R&D in a high-performance computing environment. This on-site role involves working with users to solve complex modeling and simulation challenges, and strengthening HPC software workflows in a lab setting.

The ideal candidate has a TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph, a STEM degree, and 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5 years in modeling/simulation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline required.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience required.
• Around 5 years developing and using modeling and simulation software in heterogeneous environments.
• Experience supporting HPC user workflows, including GUI-based workflows.
• Knowledge of HPC environments and related technologies.
• Proficiency in Fortran, C, and/or C++.
• Proficiency with Bash and Korn shell scripting.
• Strong Linux experience with lab troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with requirements, design, coding, documentation, testing of scalable distributed applications in Linux.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading code reviews.
• Experience delivering training workshops/tutorials for HPC users and staff.

Responsibilities

• Support HPC users and staff in research and development, addressing modeling/workflow issues.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based HPC software and distributed applications.
• Collaborate with Technical User Support, team lead, and customers to resolve problems.
• Contribute across the software lifecycle: requirements, design, coding, testing, maintenance.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, lead code reviews, and create training content.
