Job summary

Lightning AI in Chicago is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our new HPC data center in Lisle, Illinois. This full-time on-site role supports day-to-day hardware, power, and network operations.

You will monitor and maintain hardware, troubleshoot issues, and work with the HW Support and RMA teams. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in data centers and strong teamwork. We offer a competitive package with growth opportunities within a fast-moving AI company.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in data centers and infrastructure supporting data centers.
• Experience with power distribution, airflow, environmental monitoring, and DCIM software.
• Attention to detail in debugging cabling and configuration.
• Ability to work in a 24/7 environment including on-call rotations.
• Strong collaboration with network engineers and operations teams.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain hardware in the data center, including configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve system/compute/network issues to restore functionality.
• Rack, label, cable, and configure new server, storage and network infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot server hardware and software issues.
• Develop installation standards and documentation for data centers.
• Proactively monitor onsite hardware to prevent failures.
• Coordinate with HW Support and RMA teams to resolve issues and replacements.
• Create documentation to drive consistency and discoverability across data centers.
