Cambridge Computer is seeking a field-based HPC/AI Data Center Technician to build end-to-end compute and AI solutions for client sites across North America. You will leverage hardware, software, and networking know-how to implement prescribed configurations and ensure cohesive data center operations.

Ideal candidates have extensive data center experience, strong cabling and rack/stack skills, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision; travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a data center environment.
• 5+ years installing network and server hardware.
• 5+ years with structured and datacenter cabling.
• Knowledge of Layer2/3 networks and troubleshooting.
• Basic Linux understanding.
• Ability to lift 50-70 pounds and move equipment for hours.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.
• Field-based role with 50% travel.

Responsibilities

• Determine client needs and recommend best options, executing multi-vendor hardware and software.
• Display expertise in storage, networking, data protection, and other infra technologies.
• Develop and verify rack elevations and cable layouts per diagrams.
• Install server, storage, network, and related equipment onsite at client locations.
• Cable and label all network cabling within the datacenter environment.
• Perform basic OS and ILO configuration on servers and network gear.
• Scope out and detail professional services deliverables and client expectations.
• Document installation processes from start to finish.
• Gain advanced vendor certifications in the solution stack.
