Responsibilities

• Prepares meals for members that meet their individual needs and for guests. Ensures quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
• Follows safety and sanitation policies, completing cleaning assignments, maintaining equipment, and adhering to all safety rules.
• Prepares and checks all items on members’ plates to ensure dietary and individual needs are met as directed by the Nutrition Care Specialist.
• Prepares appropriate hot or cold foods in a timely manner for meal service.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One to three years of related experience/training in healthcare settings
• Experience preparing therapeutic diets
• Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to read and understand recipes
• Empathetic, energetic, with an affinity for working with a diverse senior population
• Must complete and pass a Level II Background Check and Drug Screening
