Job summary

Orion Engineers + Constructors is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead multi-discipline industrial capital projects from initiation through closeout, serving as the client’s representative and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting, scheduling, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Engineering Technology, or related discipline preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of project management experience in industrial, EPC, construction, or capital-project environments.
  • Proven experience managing multi-discipline projects involving engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls, cost estimating, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, earned value management, and contract administration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of industrial capital projects, including scope development, budgeting, engineering/design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, and closeout.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risks, resources, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, contractors, vendors, engineering disciplines, operations, and purchasing personnel.
  • Develop and manage project estimates, budgets, forecasts, schedules, cash flow, and capital expenditures.
  • Perform project controls activities, including cost tracking, earned value analysis, schedule updates, critical path review, and change management.
  • Prepare bid packages, scopes of work, RFPs, and procurement documentation; evaluate bids and support vendor selection and contract negotiations.
  • Review contracts, purchase orders, invoices, goods receipts, and project expenditures for accuracy and alignment with project progress.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain clear, accurate project records, reports, drawings, and documentation.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and participate in contractor safety meetings, audits, job walks, and site inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, client, contractual, and company requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve issues, and communicate project status to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate project closeout activities, including punch lists, as-built drawings, final documentation, and final payments.
  • Support proposal and business-development efforts as needed.
