Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Field Geotechnical Engineer for the Eli Lilly chemical manufacturing facility project in Houston, TX. The role focuses on on-site engineering support for earthwork, subgrade prep, backfill, compaction, and ACIP pile work, with coordination across field teams and home-office geotechnical engineers.

Qualifications

• MS in Geotechnical Engineering or PhD with progressive relevant work experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Demonstrated field experience in earthwork, subgrade, compaction, and site grading.
• Proficiency with field documentation and data-management software.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site engineering support for earthwork and geotechnical construction.
• Verify subgrade conditions, perform proof-rolling, and oversee backfill and compaction.
• Coordinate with contractors, CSAOM, ES&H, and design teams to resolve issues.
• Oversee ACIP pile installation, testing, and quality control.
