Job summary

Bechtel is seeking an Industrial Hygienist to lead the IH program for the Lilly Houston Project in Houston, Texas. You will develop the exposure assessment strategy, conduct monitoring, interpret results against OSHA/ACGIH limits, and implement controls.

You will mentor IH technicians and report to the EHS Manager, coordinating with clients and regulators. A BS in industrial hygiene and 5 years of IH experience are required; CIH preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in industrial hygiene or related field with 5 years IH experience; or 9 years without a degree.
• CIH certification preferred or actively pursued.
• Experience developing exposure assessment strategies on large industrial projects.
• Knowledge of OSHA/ACGIH/NIOSH standards and methods.
• Proficient with IH sampling equipment and data management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the IH program and develop the project exposure assessment strategy.
• Perform and direct personal and area monitoring and assess results against limits.
• Interpret sampling data and recommend controls and PPE.
• Provide direction to IH technicians and EHS staff.
• Prepare IH reports and exposure trend analyses.
• Coordinate lab samples and validate analytical results.
• Support regulatory inspections and audits as needed.
• Deliver IH training and toolbox talks for craft and supervision.
• Interface with client, regulators, and health providers.
• Assist in incident investigations with IH evaluation.
• Maintain exposure records per policy and regulations.
• Ensure respiratory protection and hearing conservation programs are followed.
