Job summary

Design Within Reach is seeking a Design Specialist in Houston Uptown Park Blvd to blend interior design sensibility with consultative selling. You will deliver personalized design solutions while representing iconic designers and brands, building lasting client relationships, and reporting to the General Manager.

You'll drive sales through design consultations, manage the full client lifecycle, and stay current on product knowledge and trends.

Qualifications

• Design-savvy professional with passion for modern interiors.
• Experience in retail sales, design consulting, or customer success preferred.
• Background in interior design, architecture, or related field preferred.
• Strong client needs assessment, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and design tools like SketchUp or AutoCAD.
• Able to lift 40 lbs and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales with personalized design consultations and solutions.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, trade professionals, and the design community.
• Meet and exceed sales targets and KPIs.
• Guide clients through product selection, space planning, styling.
• Manage client lifecycle using CRM and outreach strategies.
• Maintain visual merchandising and store aesthetics.
• Stay current on product knowledge and design trends.
• Conduct in-home consultations and off-site meetings with trade clients as needed.
