Caritas of Austin is seeking a Housing Stability Specialist to provide rapid re-housing services for low-income individuals and families. The role focuses on eligibility, needs assessment, intensive case management, and referrals to housing, income, and well‑being resources.

The position is full-time and grant-funded, with responsibilities including maintaining housing services records, coordinating access to mental health and health services, and collaborating with landlords to secure housing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; social work or related degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year employed as a professional case manager assisting low-income, diverse populations.
• Past case management in housing programs or homelessness context preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or other language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid re-housing services and assess housing stability needs.
• Conduct eligibility screenings and determine program eligibility.
• Maintain accurate records in HMIS and related reports.
• Coordinate housing identification, applications, move-ins, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with landlords and community partners to secure affordable housing.
• Deliver comprehensive case management for clients with mental health or substance use needs.
• Link clients to employment, education, and additional services as needed.
• Transport clients to services and provide crisis intervention when required.
