Job summary

Catholic Charities Diocese is seeking a Caseworker Coach I to support La Posada residents in achieving safe, stable housing. You will guide participants, coordinate with partners, and help them access resources while maintaining safety and dignity in a shelter environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration, thorough documentation, and trauma-informed service delivery, with evening hours and a strong commitment to measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Human Services, social or behavioral sciences or related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum one-year experience serving people experiencing homelessness, living with substance use disorders, and/or mental illness
• Familiarity with trauma-informed approaches to service delivery; training in Motivational Interviewing, Housing First or harm reduction is a plus
• Strong listening skills and a positive, can-do attitude
• Familiarity with Clarity HMIS or willingness to learn HMIS data entry

Responsibilities

• Welcome and orient new participants to the shelter; complete initial intakes and explain program routines and behavioral expectations
• Provide a consistent presence in the facility while ensuring residents’ safety
• Prepare meal supplies and assist with serving meals; oversee cleanup and restock for the next day
• Assist participants in developing life skills and navigating social services
• Support residents in achieving goals; document progress and barriers; assist with problem-solving
• Help participants gather documents to obtain housing
• Keep the facility clean and well maintained; assist with chores
• Document services; maintain logs and sign-in records; log significant events daily
• Facilitate access to technology for meetings with internal and external service providers
• Foster trauma-informed, safety-focused culture; participate in team meetings and case management
