Job summary

Catholic Charities Diocese of San Diego seeks a Caseworker Coach I for La Posada to support residents in achieving housing stability. You will orient new participants, ensure safety, assist with meals and daily chores, and help develop life skills while coordinating with community resources.

Strong trauma-informed approach and bilingual Spanish are preferred. This role offers full- or part-time hours with an overnight shift differential.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum one year of experience serving people experiencing homelessness.
Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches is preferred.

Responsibilities

Welcome and orient new participants to the shelter; complete intakes and explain routines.
Provide a consistent, safe presence for residents and monitor safety needs.
Assist with meals, supplies, and after-meal cleanup; stock for next day.
Help participants develop life skills and navigate social services.
Document progress, barriers, and solutions; support goal achievement.
Gather documents for housing and ensure facility is clean and organized.
Maintain records in logs and HMIS; communicate issues to supervisor.
Facilitate access to technology for meetings with internal or external providers.
Assist with monthly reports and other required paperwork.
