Job summary

Health Care for the Homeless is seeking a SOAR Housing Specialist to provide housing-related support and advocacy for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. You will coordinate housing stability activities, deliver tenancy-based education, and assist with grant reporting for the SOAR Housing First program.

Key duties include intake assessments, helping clients access affordable housing and resources, and managing housing plans with community referrals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Personal vehicle with current automobile insurance and valid Maryland driver’s license required.
  • Two years of experience in connecting individuals to essential services including healthcare, mental health, and addiction services.

Responsibilities

  • Complete intake assessments for new clients referred to the SOAR Housing First program.
  • Assist clients in finding and securing safe, affordable housing and connect to resources (furniture, utilities, etc.).
  • Maintain a caseload to identify resources and create housing plans with clients.
