Job summary

The Ness Center in Louisiana seeks a Housing Coordinator to help clients transition from residential and supportive living services into independent or supported housing. You will build relationships with landlords, coordinate housing applications, and support participants in achieving stable, affordable housing.

Qualifications

• Direct experience in housing coordination, case management or community advocacy.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus four or more years of relevant experience OR a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Must be 21+ years old; valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with landlords, property managers, housing authorities, voucher programs, and housing providers.
• Help participants identify and access safe, affordable housing options.
• Coordinate housing applications, documentation, approvals, move-ins and transitions.
• Collaborate with clinical and case management teams to support housing plans and continuity of care.
• Educate on tenant responsibilities, budgeting, lease compliance, and independent living skills.
• Address barriers to housing stability and respond to housing-related concerns promptly.
• Coordinate property viewings, housing appointments, move-ins, utilities, furnishings, and essential needs.
• Advocate for access to affordable housing while respecting participant housing choices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support outcome tracking and quality improvement.
• Respond to housing crises such as eviction risks and lease concerns.
