Job summary

BRC - Bowery Residents' Committee, Inc. is seeking a Housing Retention Specialist at our Tillary Street location in Brooklyn, NY. The role supports follow-up services for former clients placed in housing and coordinates with NY/NY Housing providers.

You will conduct psycho-educational groups, provide case management to a caseload, and respond to emergencies as needed. Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly; vaccination preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree preferred; HS diploma acceptable with experience.
• Minimum two years experience working with homeless, mentally ill, or MICA population.
• Knowledge of the NY/NY housing system.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• CPR training certification or willingness to take CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Provide follow-up services for one year to former clients placed in housing.
• Act as liaison between the program and NY/NY Housing providers.
• Facilitate psycho-educational groups for current and former clients.
• Assist in placing clients in housing.
• Provide comprehensive case management to a caseload of current clients.
• Provide case management services to a caseload of aftercare clients.
• Provide emergency first aid/CPR when needed.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
