Summary Of Responsibilities

The Housing Program Manager is a position in NMIC’s Legal, Organizing, & Advocacy (LOA) Department responsible for providing programmatic and administrative support for LOA’s Housing work, including the Right to Counsel eviction defense and the organizing and group advocacy work. Specific responsibilities include monitoring compliance and performance on NMIC’s housing contracts with government agencies, coordinating internal and external housing referrals, and coordinating meetings with NMIC and other contract partners to ensure contract performance. The Housing Program Manager will work closely with unit leaders to ensure that clients receive high-quality service delivery and that unit administrative systems are efficient and effective.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

Data Capture & Contract Performance

  • Monitor and review contract reporting requirements and ensure those requirements are communicated to leadership and reporting staff.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings with contract partners to review contract performance and ensure proper data collection/entry.
  • Coordinate with PA&E and Housing/Buildings departments leadership to ensure necessary client and service data is fully captured and entered into both NMIC’s internal database and external databases required for contract performance and reporting.
  • Coordinate with PA&E and Housing/Buildings departments leadership to evaluate processes and technology used to record and track data/referrals. Coordinate with the Assistant Director for Housing to develop, document, and maintain automated solutions to these processes, including on NMIC’s database, Sharepoint, and the Microsoft Power Platform
  • Provide support on data collection practices to ensure efficient, comprehensive, reliable, and valid data entry.
  • Assist in continuous review and evaluation of external database data entry practices; assist in modifying data entry practices to ensure that they are systematic and efficient.
  • Monitor contract performance and ensure that NMIC and partner organizations are meeting ongoing contract performance goals.

Communication & Referrals

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external housing referrals from the office of court administration, office of civil justice, elected officials, and other community partners for referrals to the Housing/Buildings units and ensure those referrals are sent to appropriate housing staff
  • Coordinate internal housing referrals and ensure those referrals are sent to appropriate housing staff
  • Coordinate with PA&E and the Assistant Director for Housing to develop, document, and maintain automated solutions to referral processes, including on NMIC’s database, Sharepoint, and the Microsoft Power Platform
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Housing/Buildings units and partner organizations for critical communication including, but not limited to, deadlines, data capture, and contract deliverables.

Program Management

  • Coordinate with the Assistant Director for Benefits and Advocacy Services and Managing Housing Attorney to facilitate processes for financial assistance grant application submissions.
  • Support LOA’s Buildings and Housing units in fulfilling organizing and legal work goals.
  • Coordinate with Director of LOA and Assistant Director for Housing to track and assess building development portfolio. Assist in creating action plans to move building development work forward.
  • Ensure department-wide administrative systems and processes are maintained, and that staff correctly utilize established procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Assistant Director for Housing to identify, develop, document, and maintain automated solutions to department processes, including development of automations on Microsoft Power Platform and Sharepoint
  • Coordinate with the Assistant Director for Housing and other unit leaders to ensure effective and organized use of Sharepoint
  • Continuously assess and improve upon departmental structures (e.g., administrative, communication, etc.) and operations.
  • Oversee entry level administrative staff across housing contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with program supervision and leadership skills preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

SALARY/BENEFITS: NMIC offers a competitive salary based on experience and education as well as a comprehensive and generous benefits package: medical, dental, life, and disability insurance are included; paid time off, including 20 vacation days, 15 sick days, 5 personal days, and 12 agency holidays; a 401k with agency contribution; and other benefits.

SALARY: $65,000 – $75,000
