Job Description

The Residential Life Housing Operations Assistant is a part-time role, responsible for operations under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Housing Operations. This includes but is not limited to dining changes and billing, room changes and facilities work order requests. They will also be involved in professional staff meetings and further development of the Office of Residential Life.

Essential Functions

Housing Operations

• Assist with the room selection process.
• Respond to internal and external requests, inquiries, and concerns through the Res Life email.
• Work closely with dining services to coordinate meal plan changes.
• Facilitate room change requests including room inspection and key reports.
• Communicate current occupancy with campus partners such as the Mailroom and Facilities.
• Coordinate and manage the Post-Selection Housing Process.

Facilities Management

• Follow up on outstanding maintenance requests and facility condition assessments.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Understanding of student development philosophy, residence hall management and ability to work with a diverse student and staff population.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior work experience in residential life or student leadership strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Excellent communication and demonstrable ability to focus on details with excellent follow-through capabilities.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Google Suite, StarRez, and demonstrable aptitude to learn new technologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
• Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects under frequent deadlines.
• Read, understand, and express oneself clearly and effectively in oral and written form.
• Demonstrate the ability to navigate policy and regulatory nuance.
• Positive attitude and excitement toward work.
• Ability to take initiative, work independently, and be a strong team member.
• A good sense of humor and a desire to laugh often are highly valued.

Salary

Salary: $25 per hour

Work Schedule

Days/Hours: M-F, 20 hours per week, in person; work schedule subject to change based on needs of the department.
