Job summary

ACCESS Housing — Housing Partnerships seeks a Housing Navigator to lead housing identification, navigation, and lease-up efforts for program participants. You will work with participants, case managers, and landlords to expedite housing access, provide tenant education, and ensure long-term tenancy success.

The role involves cultivating landlord partnerships, assisting with applications, coordinating inspections, and maintaining records in HMIS.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience working with vulnerable populations.
• Basic understanding of property management and tenant law.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to multitask in a variety of areas.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in client interactions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and support the housing portfolio process to match participants with suitable housing options.
• Provide housing search assistance for eligible referred participants.
• Support participants and case managers during housing search, application, and placement, including viewings and lease signings.
• Track referred individuals and ensure continued progression through the housing process.
• Attend trainings and conferences to develop knowledge in the field.
• Establish relationships with landlords and property management companies.
• Assist in processing and submission of housing applications (subsidized and unsubsidized).
• Conduct inspections of potential permanent housing units.
• Collaborate with case managers to ensure seamless services.
• Complete Rent Well Certification and participate in Rent Well trainings.
• Provide tenant education on rights/responsibilities and housing discrimination.
• Document and maintain HMIS data when necessary.
• Participate in staff meetings and prepare regular activity reports.
