The Salvation Army Florence Corps is seeking an Overnight Housing Monitor for the Florence, AL shelter. This full-time role supports residents overnight, ensuring safety, security, and adherence to house rules within the Florence Corps shelter. It requires a High School diploma/GED and at least one year of related experience.

Responsibilities include logging activities, maintaining orderly facilities, and providing a stable, supportive environment for residents and staff during night shifts.

Qualifications

• One year of security work or social service experience preferred.
• Equivalent training or experience acceptable.

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for an overnight Housing Monitor for the Emergency Homeless Shelter at the Florence Corps in Florence, AL.

This position is responsible for:

Accepting and processing residents staying in lodge/shelter overnight

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules.
• Maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information.
• Ensures that lodge/shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.
• Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
