Job summary

The Springfield Housing Authority is seeking a Regular Full Time Janitorial/Building Maintenance Worker to maintain housing grounds, clean units, and perform minor repairs. Location: 200 North 11th St, Springfield, IL. Salary range is $34,515.33 - $51,773.00 per year.

Requirements include a High School diploma and 1 year of janitorial or maintenance experience, knowledge of UPCS standards, and ability to operate basic tools. Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• High School graduate; one (1) year of experience in janitorial work or building maintenance.
• Knowledge of housing authority building, health, safety, sanitation, and energy conservation codes and UPCS or other standards.
• Knowledge and skill in the use and care of tools, equipment, and supplies used in building maintenance and housekeeping.
• Ability to communicate (oral and written) and interact with diverse individuals in a courteous, confidential, effective manner.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs, mops, waxes, and polishes floors; dusts furniture.
• Washes windows, woodwork, toilets, and fixtures; sprays and fumigates as needed.
• Cleans outdoor areas, mows lawns, and maintains premises in orderly condition.
• Makes minor repairs on water, electric, or plumbing fixtures and equipment.
• Cleans out vacant units and conducts final cleaning prior to leasing.
• Maintains vehicle and storage rooms; keeps tools and supplies in good condition.
