Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to use tools and perform work of a skilled nature.
• Basic knowledge of heating, plumbing, electricity, and carpentry.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools used for building and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to use and operate snow removal equipment.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to deal effectively with other co-workers and tenants.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and repair tasks on buildings, apartments, grounds, and equipment.
• Mandatory snow removal and other on-call duties.
• Maintains hot water, heating and boiler systems; drains and clean burners.
• Plumbing tasks: change washers, repair toilets, unclog drains.
• Electrical tasks: replace lights and outlets, fixtures.
• Pest control tasks under licensed supervision.
• Prepare vacant apartments for rental; patch walls as needed.
• Assist mechanics in major repairs or new construction.
