Job summary

House of Hope CDC seeks Shelter Staff for ECHO Village in Providence, RI. The role delivers front-line services and operational support to guests, with a person-centered, harm-reduction approach. Schedules may include nontraditional hours and overnight shifts for some positions.

Responsibilities include safety, relationship building, intake assistance, basic needs provision, unit preparation, documentation, and collaboration with case management. Bilingual applicants encouraged.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated suitability to work with disadvantaged and challenging individuals and families in a diverse environment.
• Knowledge of community resources such as health services, benefits, employment, housing supports.

Responsibilities

• Engage in relationship building with guests.
• Ensure safety and security of guests; support from overnight security.
• Conduct perimeter checks and document observations.
• De-escalate conflicts and assist with check-in and intake.
• Provide basic needs and upkeep of units and common areas.
• Provide supportive services in consultation with case management.
