Job summary

YMCA of the North Shore is hiring a Facilities Technician – Housing to support housing properties and multiple YMCA locations. This on-site role at Gloucester, MA, with duties across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building repairs keeps living environments safe and comfortable for residents.

You will perform routine maintenance, apartment turnovers, inspections for safety, and coordinate with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED/HiSET, or equivalent experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems.
• Complete apartment turnovers, including painting, patching, caulking, and minor repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and inspect units and common areas for safety concerns.
• Maintain outdoor areas including landscaping, snow removal, and sidewalk safety.
• Coordinate with residents, staff, vendors, and contractors to prioritize tasks and communicate progress.
