Job summary

YMCA of Greater Nashua is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Specialist to oversee the upkeep and safety of our Nashua-area branches and camps. The role focuses on general building and grounds maintenance, with hands-on leadership and a readiness to assist across branches as needed.

You will be part of a team that prioritizes safety, reliability, and community service, while supporting emergency responsiveness and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; advanced degree preferred.
• 5 years experience in facilities management.
• CPR/AED/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Trained in YUSA Listen First or within six months of employment.
• Valid driver's license and driving record meeting YMCA standards.
• Basic computer knowledge: Kronos HRIS, Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Ability and willingness to respond to safety and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Safely and effectively use basic hand tools for routine tasks.
• Complete branch/association-wide work orders with proper communication.
• Serve as primary contact for third-party maintenance providers.
• Assist housekeeping with daily cleaning and upkeep.
• Maintain supply/maintenance closets and tools in safe order.
• Manage inventory and order supplies within budgeted amounts.
• Respond to facility maintenance and cleaning issues as they arise.
• Coordinate licenses and permits with the Properties Director.
• Support branch events and special needs setups.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
