Job summary

Housing Authority of the City of Austin (HACA) is seeking a Housing Eligibility Specialist to coordinate rental assistance for voucher participants and manage leasing from vouchers to subsidy payments.

Ideal candidate will conduct eligibility reviews, collect documentation, and communicate determinations to residents and landlords, while maintaining compliant electronic records. Hybrid work options available; bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or four years related experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Ability to provide compassionate and professional customer service to diverse clientele.
• Strong computer skills including Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, Emphasys ELITE, and Laserfiche.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate rental assistance for Housing Choice Voucher participants.
• Manage leasing lifecycle including vouchers, inspections and eligibility.
• Execute HAP contracts, obtain leases, ensure subsidy payments.
