Job summary

BKF Engineers seeks a Project Manager for Housing Element Services to lead delivery and pursue new opportunities within the Community Planning practice. You will manage Housing Element updates from background analysis through HCD certification and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across planning, environmental, and engineering disciplines.

The role combines project delivery with business development, focusing on Bay Area and LA metro markets, with a remote/hybrid arrangement and travel as

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in community planning with Housing Element focus.
• Experience serving as Project Manager or lead on at least one 6th cycle Housing Element update.
• Working knowledge of RHNA methodology, site inventory requirements, rezoning programs, and AFFH analysis.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager on Housing Element updates and implementation projects.
• Lead project scope, schedule, budget, and subconsultant coordination.
• Guide clients through HCD review cycles and evolving housing law requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary internal teams across planning, environmental, and engineering disciplines.
• Lead business development, including proposals, RFP responses, and client presentations.
