Job summary

The City of Greensboro is seeking a Code Compliance Inspector to enforce the Minimum Housing Code and IPMC through inspections of residential properties. You will respond to complaints, issue notices, and conduct hearings with property owners, managing an active caseload and logging updates in the code compliance software.

This non-exempt, on-site role may involve presenting evidence before the City's Minimum Housing Standards Commission and attending community meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 1+ years enforcing a law, ordinance, code, or HOA rules.
• Data entry and proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Inspect single-family and multi-family dwellings for housing code/IPMC violations.
• Inspect for nuisance violations on lots and vehicles and respond to complaints.
• Issue notices to property owners and conduct hearings with owners.
• Manage caseload and report progress; update case management software.
• Present evidence before the Minimum Housing Standards Commission.
• Attend community or neighborhood meetings as needed.
