Job summary

Fidelity Manufacturing is seeking a Housing Assembler in McGregor, Texas, to join our growing startup team as we open a new Texas plant. You will assemble precision aluminum enclosures for backup power systems, reading drawings, using hand tools, and following strict quality standards.

Qualifications

Job Summary

The Housing Assembler is responsible for assembling precision aluminum enclosure components into fully completed housing units. This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to safely handle and move components, panels, hardware, and structural assemblies throughout the facility.

The ideal candidate will possess basic mechanical aptitude, experience using hand tools, and the ability to read drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong attention to quality, safe work practices, and a commitment to supporting production goals.

Essential Job Functions
Assembly & Installation

Square and assemble various enclosure and housing components.

Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, prints, and channel detailing.

Install enclosure components, hardware, framing, and related assemblies according to specifications.

Perform assembly techniques related to construction, framing, drywall, and hardware installation.

Verify measurements and proper fitment throughout the assembly process.

Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality and engineering requirements.

Support assembly activities involving aluminum housings, enclosures, and fabricated components.

Tools & Equipment

Use basic hand tools including wrenches, ratchets, screwdrivers, drills, and tape measures.

Read and use tape measures accurately to verify dimensions and fitment.

Safely move parts, materials, and heavy frames on and off machinery and throughout the facility.

Operate forklifts and material handling equipment as trained and authorized.

Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

Assist with material staging and movement activities as required.

Quality & Production Support

Follow engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

Meet production goals and department performance objectives.

Maintain a high level of quality and workmanship throughout all assembly activities.

Identify quality concerns and notify supervisors when issues arise.

Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Assist in maintaining organized and efficient production areas.

Safety & Teamwork

Work safely and consistently follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Wear required PPE and maintain compliance with workplace safety standards.

Support environmental health and safety initiatives throughout the facility.

Work effectively with coworkers to support production goals and team success.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Participate in required training and development opportunities.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Ability to read and interpret specifications, blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.

Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.

Ability to use hand tools associated with fabrication and assembly work.

Basic mathematical and measurement skills.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Commitment to safe work practices and proper use of PPE.

Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.

Highly Preferred

Previous assembly, construction, fabrication, manufacturing, or related experience.

Experience assembling aluminum products or enclosure systems.

Forklift experience.

Experience reading production drawings and assembly prints.

Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Experience supporting startup operations or rapidly growing manufacturing facilities.

Preferred

Technical school, trade school, or vocational training related to manufacturing, construction, or assembly.

Knowledge of framing, hardware installation, or light fabrication techniques.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Experience with material handling equipment and warehouse operations.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing warehouse and assembly environment where aluminum enclosures are assembled, fitted, and finished. The role involves regular exposure to loud noise, dust, airborne particles, fumes, vibration, temperature fluctuations, chemicals, and production byproducts within OSHA-permissible exposure limits.

Work areas may include concrete floors, ramps, inclines, metal platforms, uneven ground, and assembly stations with regular movement around machinery, tools, forklifts, material handling equipment, and production lines. Certain tasks may require working inside enclosure structures, cabinets, or assemblies where space may be limited and lighting conditions may vary.

Some assignments may be performed outdoors or between buildings depending on production requirements and weather conditions. Required PPE must be worn at all times, and all company safety procedures and training requirements must be followed.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or maneuver materials, panels, tools, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.

Ability to stand, walk, and work for extended periods on concrete, metal, wood, and fiberglass surfaces.

Ability to navigate ramps, stairs, inclines, uneven ground, and production walkways safely.

Ability to bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, and maintain balance while assembling components and working around enclosure structures.

Ability to use hands and arms for repetitive tasks including handling hardware, operating tools, assembling components, and material movement.

Ability to safely operate or work around machinery, electrical components, power tools, and material handling equipment.

Ability to maintain visual acuity required to read measurements, inspect materials, review work instructions, and verify assembly quality.

Ability to work safely in both well-lit and limited-light environments during various stages of assembly.
