Job summary

HaFSBX designs and manufactures innovative material handling systems and is seeking an Assembly & Operations Technician to join our Operations team. This hands-on role focuses on building larger mechanical equipment and seeing a physical product come together from start to finish.

You’ll use hand and power tools to measure, fit, drill, and assemble components, test and troubleshoot, and assist with shipping and inventory in a fast-paced shop setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–3 years in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, automotive, construction, or related hands-on field preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read drawings and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical material handling equipment using drawings and work instructions.
• Use hand and power tools to fit, drill, and fasten components.
• Test and troubleshoot assembled equipment and prepare for shipment.
• Support shipping, receiving, inventory, and ERP transactions.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to improve build processes.
• Move materials with forklifts and participate in cycle counts.

Job description

At HaFSBX, we design and manufacture innovative material handling systems tailored to the unique needs of industries ranging from food processing to pharmaceuticals. As our company continues to grow, we're looking for an Assembly & Operations Technician to join our Operations team.

This is a hands-on, shop-floor position for someone who enjoys building mechanical equipment, working with tools, solving problems, and seeing a physical product come together from start to finish.

Role Overview

As an Assembly & Operations Technician, you'll support the assembly and production of larger mechanical material handling equipment designed to help move heavy loads in industrial environments.

This is hands-on mechanical assembly involving larger components and equipment - not small-part, electronics, or repetitive bench assembly.

You'll use hand and power tools to measure, fit, drill, fasten, and assemble components according to engineering drawings and work instructions. You'll also help test and troubleshoot completed equipment before shipment.

In addition to assembly, you'll support shipping and receiving, inventory, material handling, and other day-to-day shop operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical material handling equipment using engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Build larger mechanical assemblies using hand tools, power tools, drills, measuring tools, hardware, fittings, and shop equipment.
• Measure, position, fit, align, drill, and fasten components throughout the assembly process.
• Perform functional testing and troubleshoot mechanical or assembly issues.
• Inspect completed assemblies for proper fit, function, and quality.
• Prepare finished equipment for packaging and shipment.
• Assist with shipping, receiving, material staging, and freight preparation.
• Load, unload, and move materials and equipment using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts and material organization.
• Process inventory and shipping transactions within the ERP system.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Work closely with Engineering and Operations to resolve assembly issues and improve build processes.
• Take on additional hands-on operational responsibilities as production needs change.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with tools, and enjoys physically building equipment in a manufacturing or shop environment.

Relevant backgrounds could include:

• Mechanical or equipment assembly
• Automotive or equipment repair
• Construction or skilled trades
• Fabrication or manufacturing
• Industrial or agricultural equipment
• Maintenance or mechanical technician work
• Hands-on warehouse or material handling operations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, automotive, construction, equipment maintenance, fabrication, or another hands-on mechanical field preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, measurements, and assembly instructions.
• Comfortable performing physical, hands-on work with larger equipment and components.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and work through a variety of mechanical assembly tasks.
• Strong attention to quality and workmanship.
• Dependable, organized, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take on responsibilities across assembly and operations.
