Job summary

Volunteers of America, Utah is seeking a Housing Advocate in Salt Lake City to provide front-line services and help clients obtain housing. You will assist with daily activities, intake, diversion when needed, and ensure a safe environment for clients in the resource center.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of social services or homelessness-related experience. On-site work, supporting trauma-informed care and professional conduct is essential.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Trauma Informed Care and Housing First philosophies.
• Excellent customer service skills with professionalism and empathy.
• Possess basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service to clients accessing shelter and services.
• Assist in orientation, program activities, and daily tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe facility and handle routine paperwork confidentially.
• Use trauma-informed practices to manage client behaviors and de-escalate conflicts.
• Attend work on-site and coordinate with supervisor and on-call system.
