Job summary

Wayne Metro is seeking a Coordinated Entry Specialist (CAM) to identify, assess, and enter data for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, coordinating referrals to housing resources in Detroit. This role uses a trauma-informed approach, requires strong communication, data accuracy in HMIS, and collaboration with teams to divert clients from shelter into stable housing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Detroit Continuum of Care or homeless services.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize, plan, prioritize, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
• Trauma-informed, respectful engagement with clients.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and complete intake for individuals and families.
• Input data into HMIS to track demographics, services, and housing outcomes.
• Facilitate conversations to divert households from shelters to resources.
• Assist with housing applications and referrals.
• Maintain complete and accurate case files and documentation.
