Job summary

The Lodge at Woodloch in Hawley, PA, is seeking a dedicated Houseperson to support our housekeeping team by preparing rooms, handling linens, and assisting with laundry tasks. This full-time role requires reliability, a friendly attitude, and the ability to work across shifts to ensure guest comfort.

You will collaborate with housekeepers, transport supplies using a small box truck, manage linen and waste streams, and help with room readiness during busy periods.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Strip guest rooms and remove linens.
  • Take out dirty linen and place in designated bin.
  • Safely operate a small box truck for laundry transport.
  • Collect trash and recycling from rooms.
  • Remove used soaps and shampoos for recycling.
  • Return dishes and room service carts to the kitchen.
  • Tag and store lost-and-found items with room number and date.
  • Assist with sorting linens during slower days.
  • Support housekeeping in linen pickup and restocking.
  • Help with bed-making during busy checkout days.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Work with Housekeepers to fulfill duties and responsibilities in a timely manner for guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Strip out all guest rooms removing sheets and pillowcases from bed and towels, mats and robes from bathroom. Wait for housekeepers to check rooms before entering.
  • Take out all dirty linen out of room and bathroom and place in yellow bin in hallway.
  • Safely operate and maneuver a small box truck on property to transport laundry and supplies
  • Take all trash and recycling out of room.
  • Remove soap and shampoo and keep separate for recycling.
  • Check drawers and refrigerator for left items
  • Bring any dishes and room service carts found in room to kitchen dish washing area and empty if needed.
  • Lost and found items found in room need to be tagged with room number and date and placed in housekeeping office.
  • Bring yellow bins down to laundry room when full.
  • Some days in order to free up empty bins house person will have to sort linens.
  • Keep busy check hallways for dirty dishes and check stairwells for dust.
  • On slower days house person can help in laundry with folding linen, return spa slippers to spa, high dust in the gallery hallway and spot clean carpet.
  • Daily check and organize specialty pillows on first floor.
  • Help housekeepers' as much as possible gathering supplies, and linen from laundry or closets.
  • On busy check out days you may have to help make beds to assure guests get in their rooms on a timely manner
  • At the end of the day make sure all doors are closed heat down and lights off in any vacant rooms.
  • Make area to recycle guest bags, keys and welcome packets.
  • Make sure all trash is removed from floors and closets.
  • Make sure all yellow linen carts are brought to laundry.
  • Check with supervisor or manager before you leave to see if there are any additional tasks to do.
  • As needed shampoo carpets, polish floors and train on the FOH incase day attendants are sick or on vacation

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work all shifts and have a flexible schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School, GED, or trade school education.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to; sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. They are sometimes required to stand for long hours, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. It is also required that the employee be able to lift, turn, or exert force more than 30 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working at this job, the employee must deal with a moderate to loud noise level.
