JOB DESCRIPTION:

• It is the primary responsibility of the Houseperson to assist the Guest Room Attendant’s in performance of their duties.
• All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and policies, practices, and procedures.
• Performs other duties as requested by senior management.
• Ensures that assigned areas are kept clean and neat.
• Cleans ash urns constantly, cleans and dusts lamps, mirrors, pictures, etc. Mops and cleans all marble or tile floors in assigned area.
• Delivers requested items, such as refrigerators, pillows, rollways, cribs, etc., to guest rooms.
• Empties all trash and linen from the Guest Room Attendants’ carts as needed.
• Maintain inventory levels, delivers supplies to assigned lockers, and stocks it.
• Follows Quick Flood Response procedures, safety procedures, general clean, pull room procedures, and quarterly mattress-flipping procedure.
• Cleans restrooms in assigned areas, vacuums all halls, lobbies, and edges. Cleans all hall railings, marks on wallpaper, stairwells, and lockers.
• Performs all other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Required:

• At least 6 months of previous cleaning experience.
• Ability to constantly move freely around hotel, withstand various activities such as constant walking, standing, reaching, bending from the waist, and occasional climbing, crawling, and kneeling.
• Ability to lift, have physical stamina and proper mental attitude to deal effectively with guests, management, and other employees.
• Ability to keep pace with Guest Room Attendants and remove trash and linen in a timely manner.
• Ability to push and maneuver a loaded standard utility cart.
• Working knowledge of all cleaning procedures, equipment, and supplies, ability to follow directions effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints, within established deadlines and attention to detail.
• Effective listening abilities and strong judgment skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
