Job summary

Raines Co. in Columbia, SC seeks a Houseperson to maintain cleanliness of hotel common areas. The role supports room attendants and ensures a healthy, safe environment for guests and staff.

Essential duties include cleaning lobbies, stairwells, fitness centers, and other shared spaces; restocking supplies; reporting maintenance issues; and upholding health and safety standards in a fast-paced hotel setting. Raines offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience housekeeping, janitorial, or similar in a hotel or commercial environment.
• Experience cleaning in a customer focused environment.
• Minimum High school diploma, GED or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and respond to requests.
• Maintain a healthy and safe environment in common areas.
• Clean and maintain lobbies, stairwells, fitness centers, offices, bathrooms, meeting and restaurant spaces.
• Assist room attendants, strip rooms, bring supplies, take out trash.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Vacuum carpets.
• Dust and polish furniture.
• Empty trash containers.
• Report any technical issues and maintenance needs.
• Restock cleaning cart and supplies.
• Follow health and safety rules.
• Attend meetings as required.

Position Summary: The Houseperson is responsible with maintaining the overall cleanliness of the common areas of the hotel. Essential Job Functions

• Greeting guests and responding to requests
• Maintain a healthy and safe environment in common areas
• Cleaning and maintaining common areas of the hotel such as lobbies, stairwells, fitness centers, offices, bathrooms, meeting spaces and restaurant spaces
• Assisting room attendants as needed, stripping rooms, bringing supplies, taking out garbage
• Sweeping and mopping floors
• Vacuuming carpets
• Dusting and polishing furniture
• Emptying trash containers
• Reporting any technical issues and maintenance needs
• Restocking cleaning cart and/or supplies
• Follow all health and safety rules
• Attends meetings as required

Experience And Education
