Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a Catering Houseperson to support event setup and guest service for banquets and meetings. You will prepare rooms per BEOs, assist with equipment, and ensure cleanliness of storage and event spaces.

The role requires flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Prior banquet setup experience is preferred, and the ability to move heavy equipment is essential.

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule to work banquet events at a variety of hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to carry large and heavy banquet equipment.
• One year of experience as a Banquet Set-up Person preferred in a hotel or convention center.

Responsibilities

• Set rooms and events according to the BEO specifications and Supervisor instructions.
• Handle guest requests in a friendly manner; request assistance of the Set-up Supervisor or Banquet Manager as needed.
• Ensure all storage rooms are clean, organized and secure.
• Ensure that all unused rooms are clean and clear.
• Ensure proper maintenance (cleaning and repair) of all equipment.
