Job summary

Mercy Medical Center, Inc. is hiring a Catering Houseperson to support events and hospital dining services. The role requires bending, lifting and standing for long periods, with a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

You will set rooms per BEO, assist guests, maintain storage and equipment, and collaborate with the Banquet team to ensure a smooth dining experience for patients, staff and visitors at Mercy's Baltimore campus.

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule to work banquet events at various hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to carry large and heavy banquet equipment.
• Preference for one year of experience as a Banquet Set-up Person at a hotel or convention center.

Responsibilities

• Set rooms and events according to the BEO specifications and Supervisor instructions.
• Handle guest requests in a friendly manner; request assistance as needed from the Set-up Supervisor or Banquet Manager.
• Ensure all storage rooms are clean, organized and secure.
• Ensure that all unused rooms are clean and clear.
• Ensure proper maintenance (cleaning and repair) of all equipment.
