Job summary

The Mills House in Charleston, SC seeks a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead daily cleaning operations, supervise staff, and uphold the hotel’s high cleanliness standards.

You will train, inspect, and coordinate housekeeping tasks, collaborate with other departments, and ensure guest comfort while maintaining safety and quality. A minimum of six months in housekeeping and proven leadership, plus fluent English, are required; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles.
• Proven supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual a plus.
• Read, write and speak English fluently.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
• Proficiency with housekeeping software and systems.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate housekeeping activities, including room cleaning, public area maintenance, and laundry operations
• Train, motivate, and mentor the housekeeping team to deliver exceptional service
• Conduct inspections to ensure adherence to cleanliness and quality standards
• Collaborate with other departments to meet guest expectations and address any issues
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating staff shifts
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve complaints promptly and professionally
• Uphold safety and sanitation standards, ensuring a healthy work environment
