Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to assist the Director of Housekeeping in daily operations, ensuring cleanliness standards and guest satisfaction. You will train staff, schedule assignments, monitor performance, and help manage safety, costs and equipment, while representing the property with professionalism and care for guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Ensures cleanliness standards are met by all associates throughout the department.
• Assists with daily housekeeping operations and acts as manager on duty as applicable.
• Monitors performance and adherence to policies; informs Director of Housekeeping of issues; assists with performance management.
• Assists with scheduling room assignments to ensure proper coverage.
• Ensures staff are trained and have tools/equipment needed for duties.
• Assists with administrative responsibilities and completes written reports.
• Assists with scheduling of staff.
• Inspects staff work to ensure standards are met.
• Assists with Lost and Found, including packing/mailing packages.
• Helps control expenses and minimize waste in housekeeping.
• Promotes safety and security in assigned areas.
• Performs manual duties of subordinates to cover shortages.
• Ensures furniture, facilities, and equipment are maintained and in good repair.
• Promotes excellent guest/associate rapport by responding promptly and courteously.
• Maintains appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms, and appearance.
• Represents the hotel with professionalism and decorum.
• Makes recommendations to improve methods and procedures for guest/associate satisfaction.
• Attends all required Housekeeping and other meetings.
• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Description

POSITION PURPOSE: Assists Director of Housekeeping with operations and management of the Housekeeping department to ensure quality standards are met and that optimum service is provided to hotel guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensures that all standards of cleanliness are consistently met by all associates throughout the department


2. Assists with the daily operation of the Housekeeping department and acts as manager on duty for the department as applicable.


3. Assist with monitoring performance and adherence to policies/procedures. Inform Director of Housekeeping on any issues. Assist with performance management.


4. Assist with scheduling of room assignments to ensure proper coverage.


5. Ensure all staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective job duties.


6. Assists Director of Housekeeping with administrative responsibilities and complete written reports.


7. Assists with scheduling of staff


8. Inspects work performance of associates to ensure standards are being met.


9. Assists with Lost and Found, including packing and mailing of packages.


10. Help control expenses and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping.


11. Participates in the promotion of safety and security in assigned areas.


12. Performs manual duties of subordinates as necessary to cover temporary staff shortages.


13. Ensures furniture, facilities, and equipment are maintained and in good repair.


14. Promotes excellent guest/associate rapport by reacting promptly, efficiently and courteously to all guest and associate requests/issues.


15. Ensures appropriate standards of conduct, hygiene, uniforms and appearance are maintained.


16. Represents the hotel with professionalism and decorum.


17. Make recommendations regarding improved methods and procedures so as to have a positive impact on guest/associate satisfaction.


18. Attends all required Housekeeping Department and other meetings.
