Job summary

Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel in Milwaukee is seeking a Front Desk Agent to welcome guests, manage check-in and check-out, and provide prompt, courteous service that enhances the guest experience.

You will respond to guest needs, handle inquiries, and coordinate with hotel services while maintaining accuracy in guest information and cash handling. A positive, customer-focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a varied schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays and under pressure.
• Excellent customer service skills and clear communication are required.
• Previous hotel, receptionist, customer service, front desk or administrative experience preferred.
• Ability to stand and move throughout the front office and perform essential job functions.
• Ability to read, listen, and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
• Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Maintain cash handling accuracy including house bank responsibilities.

What you will be doing:

• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel.
• Check guests in and out of rooms.
• Input and retrieve information routinely from computer system to communicate guest requests. Make appropriate selection of rooms based on guests' needs.
• Effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
• Respond to guest requests and questions regarding area or hotel, outlet information and services as well as handle guest issues and report complaints to management.
• Promptly answer the phone in a professional and clear manner.
• Maintain cash handling accuracy including responsibility for House Bank.
• Other duties as assigned.
