Overview

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for coordinating housekeeping functions in assigned sections and assuming all managerial duties in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.

Responsibilities

1. Inspect Room Attendant’s work daily to ensure standards and productivity are met.
2. In the absence of the Housekeeping Manager, inspect VIP rooms and report their status to the Front Office.
3. Oversee the closing of floors, ensuring carts are clean and restocked.
4. Complete and submit daily assignment records on time.
5. Maintain key control procedures.
6. Handle Lost and Found items per standards.
7. Monitor cleanliness of carts, linen closets, and stairways.
8. Assign daily duties to staff.
9. Carry a pager/radio to stay in contact with the Front Office and Engineering.
10. Report progress on out-of-order rooms to the Guest Services Manager.
11. Initiate repair work orders and follow up until completion.
12. Assist in training housekeeping staff.
13. May need to clean rooms as required.
14. Ensure biannual cleaning projects are completed.
15. Maintain overall guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma or equivalent; college coursework helpful.
2. Two to three years of experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
3. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
4. Ability to stand throughout the shift.
5. Effective verbal and written communication skills, friendly and courteous demeanor.
