Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a dynamic Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team in Laurel, MD. This role focuses on leading housekeeping operations, ensuring high cleanliness and safety standards, and delivering exceptional guest service.

The supervisor will train staff, manage supplies, and coordinate with management to maintain a pristine hotel environment. The position requires at least two years in a leadership housekeeping role and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years in leadership Housekeeping position.
• Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect assigned suites and public areas to ensure cleanliness and repair.
• Ensure associates have proper supplies, equipment and uniform including nametag, gloves and goggles.
• Train associates on safety standards and enforce them consistently; investigate incidents as needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties including making beds, vacuuming and cleaning.
• Monitor room status updates and discrepancies during the shift.
• Open and close shifts and manage daily tasks.
• Notify management of maintenance repairs when needed.
• Maintain hotel cleanliness including exterior entrances and parking area.
• Act as Manager on Duty when required; be available nights, weekends, holidays.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspects all assigned suites and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens, etc. are clean and in good repair.
• Ensure that all associates have proper supplies, equipment and uniform including nametag, gloves and goggles.
• Train associates on safety standards and enforce those standards on a consistent basis. Identify associates engaging in unsafe behaviors and retrain them appropriately. Complete accident investigations and take steps to prevent future accidents.
• Performs all housekeeping duties necessary, including making beds, vacuuming and cleaning.
• Verifies and updates status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift.
• Randomly selects assigned rooms to ensure cleanliness.
• Perform opening and closing shift duties.
• Notifies GM and/or Chief Engineer of maintenance repairs necessary.
• Monitor cleanliness of hotel including parking lot and exterior entrances.
• Acts as Manager on Duty when required .
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
• Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of two (2) years in leadership Housekeeping position
• Minimum of High School education, post-high school education preferred

KNO WLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
